CUSTOM DYE service
A selection of TWNN garments are available to custom dye. This is done in a couple of simple steps:
CHOOSE YOUR GARMENT
Choose the style of TWNN garments you’d like to custom dye.
CHOOSE YOUR COLOUR
Then provide us with a colour. Preferably a PMS (Pantone Matching System) which ends in ‘U’ or ‘TPX’ , the reason we dye colours that end in this code is because they allow for the truest match when dying cotton. If you have a reference swatch we can try to match this also.
We recommend sampling the required colour before proceeding with a bulk order, this ensures that you are happy with the PMS or swatch match. Sampling cost is $95 per garment, per colour.
THE DYE OPTIONS
You have a choice of a direct dye (otherwise known as a reactive dye) which gives a very clean finish to the garment.
Direct or Reactive dye is a type of dye that completely soaks into the fibers of a fabric and allows the customer to match a specific pantone colour, we recommend using a PMS (Pantone Matching System) which ends in ‘U’ or ‘TPX’ as PMS colours than end in these dyes will achieve a closer match when dyed on cotton.
For any Uniforms, Corporations, schools and events that require a specific colour that may need to be repeated time after time, this is the dye solution for them.
You can also choose to use a pigment dye instead.
Pigment dyes aren’t as intense or rich in colour but give a worn or vintage colour to the garment. Pigment dyes are quite popular for those in the fashion and retail industries.
Not to be outdone by the dependable direct dye, pigment dyeing is more of an overlay process with regards to colour saturation. Since it’s a surface dye the entire operation of this dye process takes place on the superior level of the garment. Think of it like ‘glueing’ the colour on to the surface of the garment.
Because of the inherent nature of pigments, the finished product varies slightly as it is absorbed differently on each item of clothing. This is part of the it’s charm and helps to give the product an authentic vintage look.
We can create a unique look and feel for your garment by adding certain treatments. A popular treatment is to enzyme your custom dye garment, this will make the tshirt feel softer, thinner and worn in. Other treatments include acid washing, softening, tie dying or distressing of the garment.
Please allow 2 weeks for all custom dye jobs. If you require a job urgently we will try our best to accommodate the request.
